Dr. Shalaby was born in Mansoura, Egypt. He is the author of the two major Arabic books "Start Your Own Business, Don't Hesitate", (4th edition, 2007) and "Golden Ideas of the Best Arab Companies", (1st edition, 2007). He has 18 years, experience on the SMEs Development and capacity-building projects. His expertise ranges from on-the-ground experience as a SMEs development consultant at the Canadian small and medium enterprises support project, to serving as the Director of Mansoura Technology Incubator in Egypt, and an expert, helping Gulf countries to establish small business centers, incubators and foster entrepreneurship. He has been currently the Manager of Entrepreneurship and SMEs Development Department, Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Saudi Arabia since July 2000. His works include providing thousands of consultations to the Arab entrepreneurs, designing the first technology incubator, organizing annual SMEs forums, and awards for the best performance SMEs in KSA, designing special diagnosis software for manufacturing SMEs and designing and implementing 180 hours entrepreneurship development training program for young Arab males and females. He has authored a number of books, research papers pertaining to SMEs development, ICT, industrial and technology incubators. He holds a bachelor degree in industrial engineering and M.Sc. degree in engineering. Thesis title "The Role of Industrial Advisory Services in Improving SMEs Competitiveness". He obtains Ph.D. degree in entrepreneurship & SMEs development. Dissertation title "The Role of Incubators and Technology Parks in Fostering Entrepreneurship in the Arab Countries |
